What we eat is one of the largest inputs into our body on a daily basis. On average, humans consume 3-4 pounds of food per day. So we can take all the supplements, or do the lymphatic massages, but if we are not giving our body the adequate nourishment it needs to perform the stressful job of detoxification, then we are going to struggle.
Below you will find:
- An ‘approved foods list’, and this list is by no means exhaustive, but it is a great guide and starting point to ensure the majority of your foods are coming from this list.
- Dietary Recommendations - We will give you goals to shoot for on a daily basis to try to get in adequate calories and vitamins/minerals.
- Detox Smoothie Recipe - We highly recommend a smoothie per day to get in dense nutrients in an easy way, and we gave our favorite detox smoothie recipe below to help get you started!
DIETARY RECOMMENDATIONS
On a daily basis, it is your goal to include:
- 6-8 servings of vegetables per day
- If you struggle with fiber, we recommend utilizing lower FODMAP fruits and vegetables for a period of time - but not forever! Get to the root cause of those issues. Reach out to our team for a consult call if you need individualized help.
- 1-2 servings of fruit per day
- 0.6-0.7g per pound of body-weight in protein per day (i.e. if you are 150 lbs, that would be 150 x 0.6 = 90-105g per day of protein)
- Healthy fats at each meal x 1-2 servings
Other Daily Tips:
- Herbal Tea x 1-2x/day (we love dandelion root for detox or peppermint for gut support)
- Water x 100-120 oz. per day with added electrolytes
