Our hormones are a goldilocks situation.

There are many things that affect not only hormone levels, balance, but also how you FEEL those hormones. Inflammation in the body can cause very healthy hormone levels to not even feel like it because the cells can’t hear the messages of what the hormone is trying to tell it!

So its not always absolute levels that are a problem, a lot of times it is the inflammation and health of the rest of the body that play bigger roles. Which is why the foundations are what we focus on first! Without those, any hormone support will be very short lived.

There is an order of importance when it comes to addressing hormones - if you go out of order, its likely you will not feel the benefit you should from trying to support them:

 1. Adrenal Health - We need to ensure our stress is managed, our sleep is adequate (see below), and we are nourishing this system. If you are chronically fatigued, dealing with skin or digestive issues, can’t sleep, have high blood sugars, etc. - we need to work to resolve lifestyle first and support with adaptogens potentially. I love supporting with adaptogens (GAIA daytime is a favorite) - https://us.fullscript.com/plans/fitmom-hormone-starter-kit
 2. Thyroid Health - After supporting adrenals, we want to ensure we have the thyroid in a healthy spot (get TSH, T3 Free, T4 Free, and antibodies tested!). We may need glandular or sometimes armour thyroid medication support.
 3. Progesterone - Progesterone is the ultimate balancer of hormones. It protects us from estrogen dominance, testosterone dominance and helps calm our system! I never bring in estrogen support or testosterone support without keeping healthy progesterone levels or adding in progesterone HRT alongside them.
 4. Estrogen/Testosterone - These are both options at this point and it depends on symptoms or what someone is looking to improve for how we will decide to add these.

So lets talk about the FOUNDATIONS that need to be in place and where you can begin!

This is not medical advice, this is for educational purposes only as I hope you will begin to make changes to support your body until you can work with a practitioner to get to the root cause and guide you through bio individual healing protocols.

💡 Proper Hydration + Electrolyte Balance

This is so simple, yet so many people suffer from a variety of symptoms because they are not properly hydrated.

 1. Start your day with lemon water + pinch of salt to stimulate digestion and support your liver
 2. Drink ½ your bodyweight in ounces per day
 3. Add electrolytes to most drinks (this link will get you a free sample pack with any purchase - DrinkLMNT.com/FitMomLife)
 4. If you sweat a lot, go up to ⅔ your bodyweight in ounces per day
 5. Be consistent DAILY!
